Have you ever wanted to travel into the magical jungle of Costa Rica? Have you ever wanted to try surfing, but your fears took over? Have you ever done a yoga class on a tall platform overlooking where the jungle meets the beach? Have you ever wanted to travel alone, and meet incredible people on your journey? No matter what you answer, TuCamino travel is the answer!!

My magical week in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica was probably one of my favorite travel destinations. When I first arrived at our beautiful home for the week, I was in shock. I saw these incredible rustic cabins, a yoga platform surrounded by all sorts of tropical jungle trees and so many animaI sounds. Nothing like little monkeys hanging around. I thought to myself, this is going to be great. This is just what I need to detach myself from a stressful and busy life back home. The village of Puerto Viejo is so peaceful, full of community involvement, and full of smiling faces. It is a great place to allow yourself some spiritual growth, to let go of what doesn’t serve you anymore and to come to peace with the beautiful person you are.

During the week, we had daily surf lessons at different beaches with two of the best surfers in town. To our surprise, they managed to get us all standing and riding waves on the first day. It was all our first time surfing, EVER! I think we all fell in love with surfing on that day. We also had daily yoga classes on the most amazing yoga platform. Our teacher  lead us through a practice that was just what we needed to get some good stretches, build some internal fire and immerse ourselves into relaxation. He was very inspiring during his practice, and probably led one of the best Savasana I’ve had in a long time! As a yogini, I was so pleased that I could continue my daily yoga practice during my vacation.

Our meals so were full of love and so delicious. I think I ate twice as much as I usually do. From vegan plantain lasagna, mushroom ceviche, Vietnamese rolls, avocado coconut smoothies, homemade hummus and veggies, delicious hearty breakfasts and great picnic meals on the beach and at the waterfalls. I just couldn’t stop myself from having a second plate of everything. I am grateful that our chef will be sharing her yummy recipes with us.

As you can see, our week was full of adventure. From surfing to yoga, the tour at the Jaguar Rescue Center, the empowerment and intention settings (thank you, Danielle!), the magical waterfalls, building signs for the community and of course, the wonderful friendships that we built, is something I will always cherish. This is a vacation of a life time and TuCamino Travel is the answer to all your wanderlust desires!
